Taming the Rio Piazza

As part of the Variante di Valico between Florence and Bologna, the Rio Piazza was channelled underground at San Benedetto Val di Sambro, in the Bolognese Apennines, on extreme gradients and in highly complex terrain.

The project

The Variante di Valico, the new motorway link between Florence and Bologna, includes numerous landscape and territorial improvement works. Among them is the new channelling of the Rio Piazza at Lagaro, built with 700 m of PALADEX DN 1500 pipes in class SN 12.
