PALADEX pipes

Creep test

The steel spiral embedded in the polyethylene drastically reduces creep, the progressive deformation of flexible pipes under constant load.

Test results

Choosing the minimum ring stiffness is only the first step: it is also necessary to predict how the pipe will behave over the years. In tests on DN/ID 800 pipes in class SN 8, with an initial deformation of 3% of the diameter, a PALADEX pipe complying with UNI 11434 was compared with a corrugated polyethylene pipe complying with EN 13476.

After 40 days under load, the deformation of the PALADEX pipe is about 4 times lower. Once the load is removed, the corrugated pipe recovers about one third of its deformation after 48 days, whereas PALADEX returns to its original shape after just 7 days.

This shape stability is also a tangible advantage in transport, storage and installation.
