Design

Soil is never uniform: a manhole must withstand different stresses that tend to deform it, and often requires inlets and outlets with purpose-designed shapes and bends. Every unit is the result of specific design work, which has led to patented elements and designs.

Polyethylene reinforced by galvanised steel spirals resists chemicals, saline solutions, acids, alkalis, alcohol and petrol, does not absorb liquids, withstands impact even at low temperatures and operates between −40 °C and +80 °C.

In-line manholes

The standard manhole has one inlet and one outlet connection. Its diameter must exceed that of the largest pipe by at least 20 cm; with a minimum access opening of 60 cm, the minimum manhole diameter is DN/ID 800.

With several connections it becomes a junction manhole; with the outlet at a lower level, a drop manhole. Connections can be in any material (PVC, concrete, vitrified clay, spiral-wound or corrugated HDPE) thanks to couplings and special fittings available on the market. Manholes are supplied with pre-assembled anodised aluminium ladders and a closed base of the required height.
